THE SIMONSBERG THEATRE

The Simonsberg Theatre – often referred to as The Theatre in the West Dockyard – is an impressive stone structure situated in Simon's Town. Like the town itself, it is imbued with an air of history and was built in 1893 to serve as a naval hall. With seating for 375, it became the theatre of the Anchor Players in 1980.

This much-loved theatre – and the Society to which it is home – continues to be a vibrant part of the Simon's Town cultural scene, striving to develop a community based theatre programme and to foster a love of the dramatic art form in all the people of the region.

Come on down to the dockyard and discover this unique theatre with an ambience all its own. Ample and secure parking is ensured and you – as a guest of the theatre – are assured of a memorable and enjoyable evening's entertainment.
