The annual South African Navy Band Concert has become an institution of The Anchor Players over the years. This highly talented group of musicians and singers under the most capable and dynamic leadership of Commander Mike Oldham never fail to fill the theatre to overflowing for both the back-to-back concerts. One can just never hear too much of this band's musical fare - from ethnic and cultural Southern African numbers, through the classics, military themes and pop, to the broadway classics. One leaves the theatre feeling that one's really experienced something very special. Once, after yet another stunning performance, the S A Navy Band was acclaimed as "one of the biggest treasures of the South African Navy and of our country".
